For the first time in what seemed like forever, Amanda woke up feeling refreshed. She had no clear memory of what had happened the day before, not even the week before now that she considered it. All her memories were vague as if she’d been walking around in dense fog all this time. Well, today was a new day, so now was as good a time as any to get up early and to get things done.

She took a quick shower. She had no recollection of shaving herself to make it as smooth as the way she was now. Maybe she had gotten a Brazilian wax somewhere this past week.

After the shower, she went downstairs and made herself a coffee. She unlocked her phone and checked her e-mail. That’s weird, she had no messages from work, no new ones and no old ones. She checked her calendar, and it was all empty. What the hell? As a management assistant, she always had tons of appointments to track, meetings to attend.
